Stawell-Ararat-Langi Ghiran - Day 20

We drove through some lovely country back-roads to Stawell (despite the GPS saying "turn around, turn around").

I saw that the Historical Society didn't open until 11am, so we went shopping and when we came back found that they didn't open on a Monday at all! I went looking, and a man came out. He was a volunteer member, Jim, who was installing some blinds. Jim was lovely and did a quick search for Ireland & Peters for me, and then had me fill out a research request form for later. We went on to Ararat, to do a little more shopping and had lunch at Green Hill Lake, where we also filled up with water and had hot showers, (of course we left a donation even though we weren't staying for the night). Only about 10km down the road is Langi Ghiran State Park and we pulled in to find a nice little camping area.

Later a family turned up in a motorhome. They are travelling around Australia, but are from Brisbane. The only other camper has a tent and also has Qld numberplates. Had a nice chat by the fire, which was left by someone else (and Darryl put it into the pig), and the girls cooked their marshmallows (as their father had given up on making fires for them). The wildlife was abundant with plenty of birds around, and a stumpytail lizard near our camper.
